This is my favorite smoothie. I make it almost every morning for me and my family.
Often, I rotate ( swiss chard, radicchio salad (lettuce),mustard greens, dandelion greens, broccoli, bok choy ..) , and fruits ( pears , berries, kiwi, oranges ...).
All of these greens are magnificent fibers and powerful antioxidants which clean and nourish your system. Cleansing your gut with these vitamin and mineral rich ingredients is a powerful start to the day and is a change in diet which will immediately reflect on heightened energy and vibrant lifestyle.
Never miss adding parsley dandelion and cilantro. These antioxidants are easy to access and are potent in vitamin C, support absorption of iron in the body, help digestion, improve immune system and high in folate and vitamin B12.
Directions
Step 1
In a high-speed blender. Combine all the ingredients and blend until smooth. If using a Vitamix use the tamper to press the ingredients down into the blade. You can add a bit more water if necessary to get the blender going.
Ingredients
¼ cup water or coconut water, plus more if desired
1 cup chopped cucumber (unpeeled is fine)
2 cups packed stemmed kale leaves, chopped romaine lettuce or baby spinach
3 cups packed baby spinach ½ cup fresh mint leaves
1 very large or 2 small ripe apple cored and chopped
Heaping 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 cup parsley
1 cup cilantro
2 stalks celery
1 avocado
2 tablespoon flax seeds
2 tablespoon chia seeds
2 tablespoon hemp seeds
Protein powder and /or collagen
2 or 3 ice cubes (optional)
