Description

I have a smoothie bowl like this most mornings. It is a great recipe to include in your diet when you are looking for something easy and delicious. This bowl is a fantastic way to get some healthy fats in with the almond butter and the avocado. Healthy fats aid in lowering the risk of developing heart disease, improving blood cholesterol levels, helping with blood sugar control and reducing inflammation. Healthful fats have a beneficial effect on blood pressure, and they have been shown to support gut health. Plus, you’re getting the antioxidant benefits of the blueberries.

Directions

Step 1

In a high speed blender, combine all the smoothie ingredients and blend on high until smooth. If your blender is having trouble blending, Add more almond milk, a table spoon at a time and blend again until the desired consistency is reached. Keep in mind that the smoothie should be very thick so the toppings can “float” on top.

 

Step 2

Pour the smoothie into a bowl and add your desired toppings and serve immediately

Ingredients

1 ½  cup unsweetened almond milk

1 cup frozen blueberries

2 large frozen bananas, roughly chopped

½  cup avocado

2 tablespoons roasted almond butter

2 tablespoons flax seeds

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Pinch of fine sea salt (omit if using salted almond butter)

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, to taste

ice cubes as needed
